ErP Directive

It is time to think new ideas.

On 16 June 2011, a regulation came into force throughout the European Union governing the energy efficiency of electric motors. In most fields of application – and therefore in the majority of cases with glanded pumps – the units brought into circulation by manufacturers must be equipped with electric motors in efficiency class IE2.

This is good news in terms of global climate protection. However, operators of these pumps can afford to smile as well, above all in building services and industrial applications. After all, the low electricity consumption of the new pump technology not only means there are lower CO emissions as standard, but also a significant reduction in electricity bills.

There are additional potential benefits as well! This is because the technology currently available from Wilo already meets the requirements of the new EU regulation which will be tightened up fur ther in two stages, in 2015 and 2017. This guarantees significantly greater energy savngs.

Motors in high-efficient glanded pumps made by Wilo exceed the requirements of the highest motor efficiency class IE4 which is to be introduced in the future. As a result, even changing over the pump now, well ahead of time, will provide a pay off very quickly.
